Its area is approximately 96 sq. km. and a circumference of 67 km. There are two mountains, Palouki (565 meters high) and Delphi (680 m height). It is filled with dense pine forests, covering nearly 80% of the island area. It belongs to the Province of Skopelos, Prefecture Magnesia, in Thessaly. The municipality of Skopelos is populated of 4696 inhabitants according to 2001 census.
